Royal Inland Hospital (RIH)

Located in the heart of Kamloops, is a leading regional referral center in interior British Columbia. Serving a vast geographical area, we are proud to provide full scope community Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Delivery volumes are typically 1100-1200 per annum.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Ample Procedural time

  • Our maternity units and operating rooms are located in the new Gaglardi Tower, featuring state of the art surgical equipment.  The MIS operative suite facilitates advanced laparoscopic procedures.

  • Procedural and surgical time is ample, with an average of 2-3 minor procedure and 2-3 OR days per month per FTE.  There is separate C-section time available. 

  • Nurse staffed Ambulatory Women's Health Clinic with 5 day per week outpatient gynecology minor surgical procedures with a plan to expand to sedation gynecology procedures in 2025/2026.

  • The OB/GYN department at Royal Inland Hospital currently consists of 7 OB/GYN. 

  • Our team focuses on consultative obstetric care. 

  • As a department, we continually advocate for high quality of clinical care, patient access to care, and system optimization.

Education

  • We serve as a teaching site for medical students, family practice residents, and intermittent rotations of UBC PGY4 OB/GYN residents. 

  • Opportunities to provide lectures at local level or via video link to the UBC medical school.

  • $450,000-500,000 Full Time
